The Caltech 10-Day Project Management Certificate Program

COURSES
Project Initiation, Costing, and Selection
This course will show you how to develop the essential elements required to initiate a project by establishing the business case and the project charter. The course shows you how to use selection criteria and models to evaluate project economic returns and the project portfolio. ![]()
Project Organization and Leadership
This course examines the principles of effective program leadership and motivation, and presents practical methods for decision-making, conflict management, communications, and team development. ![]()
Detailed Project Planning
This course provides the foundation for successful project planning, including scoping, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling. The course identifies common planning mistakes and pitfalls, and discusses practical work-arounds. ![]()
Project Monitoring and Control
This course provides basic principles for tracking technical efforts against cost, schedule, and performance targets. Emphasis is on reporting progress, identifying performance problems before they become severe, and determining effective recovery approaches. ![]()
Project Risk Management
A well-structured and cost-effective risk management program is a necessary ingredient of a successful project. This course provides proven methods and tools for recognizing, assessing, and responding to project risks. Real-life examples are presented in classroom simulations and interactive exercises from recent projects. ![]()

Fee: $865 for each course (all 5 courses $4325). Payment for each course is due 2 weeks prior to the first day of the course.
Hours and Credits: Participants will earn 16 Professional Development Units (PDUs) or 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for each two-day course attended. The PDUs may be applied by PMI Project Management Professionals (PMP®) towards their maintenance of certification under the PMI Continuing Certification Requirements Program.
